Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for providing automation solutions to customers. This includes developing expertise in automation products, engineering integrated solutions, and providing guidance on PLC integration and data acquisition systems. The role requires close collaboration with the sales team, technical design, implementation, and the management of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside sales associates to add engineering expertise to automation sales.
- Capture customer requirements and develop integrated solutions (PLC, PC, HMI, and SCADA design).
- Design, engineer, and implement automation systems.
- Prepare submittals and provide materials lists for sales teams to quote the proposed solutions.
- Create necessary design work and drawings for component integration.
- Lead project teams and manage projects from inception to completion.
- Provide on-site technical assistance and training to ensure seamless system integration.
- Write or assist in the creation of PLC programs for automation projects.
- Assist in the startup of customer systems, as needed.
- Stimulate customer interest in additional automation products.
- Maintain project schedules for all in-house projects.
- Offer technical support by telephone when required.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage medium to large electrical integration projects, specifically SCADA and controls systems.
- 8-10 years of leading projects as a Senior Controls or Project Engineer and/or Project Management experience on control integration projects.
- Extensive experience with various PLCs, PCs, SCADA/MMI software, networking, and AC drives.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Applicable degree in engineering or related field.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide teams through all project stages.
- PMP Certification is a bonus and very desirable for this role
