Miller School of Albemarle seeks an experienced and knowledgeable librarian / media specialist to join our staff. This position will encompass the following roles: work in conjunction with members of the Student Success Center; acquisition and management of the school’s digital and print resources; research services and instruction; special projects and programming; student and faculty support; monitoring of study halls during the academic day; assist with Peer Tutoring program and Writing Center. The librarian will assist with proctoring testing and make up assignments during the academic day and during PSAT & AP testing seasons. A candidate should demonstrate a desire to work as a team player and take on an active role in the vibrant Miller School community. The candidate should be inspired by the mission of Miller School and embrace the opportunity to serve as an example of our “mind, hands, and heart” philosophy for our students.
Outside the classroom, the position includes up to two seasons (one being winter) of coaching a sport and/or leading a co-curricular activity, in addition to serving on a supervisory duty team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A degree in library science or a related field.
- Experience working in a school library is preferred.
- Strong research, digital literacy, and writing skills.
- Teaching experience (desirable but not required).
- Familiarity with computer systems, databases management, educational software, and websites.
- Strong organization, collaboration and communication skills.
- A passion for working with young people.
- Willingness to contribute meaningfully to MSA’s after-school programming.
