Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructures for a diverse range of business clients across various industries. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of client networks, supporting both small and large-scale operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Implementation: Design and implement tailored network solutions for business clients in multiple industries based on specific requirements.
- Network Equipment Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices to ensure optimal functionality.
- Client Network Support: Provide on-site and remote support to business clients, resolving network-related issues and ensuring the smooth operation of their networks.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor client networks, detect and troubleshoot issues, and perform proactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration & Security: Work closely with clients and the IT team to ensure network security, privacy, and compliance with industry-specific regulations.
- DNS Services & IP Networking: Manage and implement DNS services, configure IP networking, and routing protocols to ensure reliable network communication.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed network documentation for each client, including configurations, troubleshooting steps, and network topology.
- Industry-Specific Solutions: Tailor network configurations and services to meet the unique needs of businesses across various industries, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of computer science principles, network design, and troubleshooting.
- IP Networking: Proficiency in TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.).
- Operating Systems: Experience with Windows operating systems.
- Group Policy & Security: Familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPO) implementation and security protocols like HTTPS for secure communication.
- Client-Focused Approach: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and understand their specific network needs.
Education & Certifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or actively working towards a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area of study.
- Certifications: CompTIA A , CompTIA Network , or other relevant networking certifications are highly preferred.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing networks for businesses.
- Experience as an IT Field Technician or Network Engineer in a client-facing role.
