• Miller Truck Leasing - Provides full-service leasing, finance leasing, truck rental, and truck maintenance programs. Miller Truck Leasing is the East Coast's largest privately-held truck leasing company.
• Miller Dedicated Services - Supports customers in outsourcing their transportation needs by providing vehicles, drivers, fuel, insurance, and overall industry expertise.
• Miller Brokerage Services - Provides on-demand capacity solutions through our network of reliable carriers.

Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller at Miller Truck Leasing will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Finance in managing the company's financial operations and reporting.

Requirements

You will:

• Ensure a smooth month-end closing process including verifying reconciliations and applicable journal entries are complete.
• Research discrepancies and fluctuations of financial results.
• Supervise general accounting staff and provide direction and mentorship to establish a growth plan as the company expands
• Supervise the billing team and ensure an accurate and structured process is followed, as well as conducting regular variance analyses
• Oversee and assist in the completion of all bank reconciliations
• Complete quarterly financial reporting and reconciliations
• Serve as a main contact for the annual audit process
• Recommend process improvements to empower an effective and efficient Accounting and Finance team
• Maintain proper financial controls that conform with company policies, US GAAP, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  
  
  

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• 7 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
• Excellent organizational skills
• A creative mind with the ability to think beyond financial issues.
• Humility, empathy, and integrity.
• An eagerness to learn
• Elite listening skills and the ability communicate complex items in a simple matter.
• Exceptional problem solving capabilities
