What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic Technician position at Miller Transportation Group?
Miller Truck Leasing is hiring multiple experienced Diesel and/or Reefer Technicians to work out of our Franklin, MA shop. Ideal applicants will have experience working as a Diesel Technician and might have Refrigeration experience and an interest in advancing their career and technical knowledge. Diesel Mechanic Technician Duties:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
- Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
- Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
- Replace clutches & transmissions
Refrigeration Technician Duties:
- Perform general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 refrigeration vehicles
- Diagnose, document, and repair refrigeration equipment following proper warranty procedures
- Prior experience working as a diesel mechanic, reefer mechanic (with 608 certification), fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors or diesel refrigeration units
- A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainer
- Hand tools
- Ability to work
- 2nd shift: Sunday 8am-4:30pm and Monday through Thursday 3pm-11:30pm
- 3rd shift: Monday through Friday 11pm-7:30am
