Miller Waldrop Ruidoso Floor Setter
Job Role:
Staging Miller Waldrop’s showroom floor displays with current stock inventory of upholstery, case goods, recliners, home-office, bedroom, dining room, outdoor, rugs, lighting, wall art, accessories, and all other related home furnishing items. Must have a strong design skill set for color, fashion, and home furnishings trends and style. Be confident and self-motivated leader.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must work with sales manager and inventory management team to keep showroom stocked and displayed at all times.
- Learn and follow all logistical procedures for the movement of stock or sold items on or off the showroom.
- Responsible to guide and manage those assigned to help move, install, and set up displays, hang pictures, etc.
- Be self-aware of any and all new accessories and furniture that is brought over for display to be moved out of the holding areas and on to the showroom floor
- Responsible to tag all new items on the sales floor following proper tagging procedures.
- Responsible for keeping floor tag and retag as needed.
- Stay on task each day you work to keep floor set and tag, reporting to sales manager.
- Keep all tools picked up and put up when staging areas are complete at the end of each day, especially Friday, i.e., ladders, hand tools, drills, furniture dollies, trash, etc.
- Inspecting all items after they are placed on the floor for full functionality as follows: Cleanliness, (all packing tape or protective plastic removed), assembled properly (bolts and screws are tight and secure), packing trash inside drawers, doors, etc, are removed and thrown away, lamps plugged in and light bulbs working, any electrical power item plugged in and working, everything has a tag and is tagged properly.
- Reviewing the showroom daily, keeping it picked up and showroom ready
Job Expectations:
- Floor setter is to be a self-motivated leader that is also humble and willing to learn and grow in their skill set.
- The floor setter must have a passion for making each vignette look fantastic.
- The floor setter must accept constructive instructions and be willing to make changes when needed.
WORK HOUR REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexible Hours, Tuesday -Friday (20-25 hrs per week)
- Occasional required attendance is mandatory to store meetings outside of normal work hours and will be communicated in advance.
- In rare occasions after hours work may be required. Due to preparation for an event or unexpected work interruptions during the day that will require working after hours to complete.
- Company Christmas party and yearly Vision meetings are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work is normally performed in a typical showroom floor environment.
- Physical effort is required, must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Experience:
- Designing and Decorating home furnishings: 2 years (Preferred)
