Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our team with Miller’s Auto Body LLC. As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition. Your expertise in auto body repair, painting, and refinishing will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the highest quality standards for our business.
*Please note* this is a 1099-G position, meaning you will work in a contracting capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles to assess the extent of damage and determine the appropriate repair methods.
- Repair and replace damaged body parts, including panels, fenders, doors, and frames, using various tools and equipment.
- Perform bodywork, including sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces to prepare them for painting.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve accurate color matching and apply paint using spray guns or other techniques.
- Remove dents, scratches, and other imperfections from vehicle surfaces.
- Ensure proper alignment and fitment of repaired or replaced parts.
- Perform final inspections to ensure repairs meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Keep accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new repair techniques, and advancements in auto body technology.
Requirements:
- Prior painting experience preferred but not required. Work in a similar capacity also a plus.
- Ability to apply auto body repair techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Understanding of dent repair, panel replacement, and refinishing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate with both customers and co-workers clearly and effectively.
- Familiarity with automotive paint mixing and application techniques.
- Ability to interpret repair manuals and follow technical instructions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Certification from a recognized auto body repair program is preferred.
