Job Summary/Basic Function
Looking for a student employee to fill the front desk position in The Career Center office on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Role will start Fall 2025.
Required Qualifications
- Comfort with answering university phone calls.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be an undergraduate student registered part-time or full-time.
- Must be in good standing with the University.
- Strong communication skills.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Canva.
Job Duties
- Primary point of contact for students and other visitors; (Answer questions and/or refer to the appropriate staff member if unable to assist.)
- Answer telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist with appointment scheduling.
- Distribute incoming correspondence to appropriate staff member.
- Assist with outgoing office mailings.
- Assist with managing basic office supplies.
- Assist with Job & Grad School Fair preparations.
- Support Administrative Assistant, and other staff members as needed.
- Provide a high degree of confidentiality.
- All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Must be able to sit/stand for length of shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
