Microprocessor Technician
Responsibilities:
Maintain electrical, electronic, and computer systems throughout the plant.
- Maintain documentation on various systems throughout the plant.
- Assist operators and process engineers in solving quality problems.
- Participate in one safety sub-committee.
- Assist contractors in the installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment.
- Maintain spare electronic equipment and parts.
- Assist control equipment technicians and or other associates with troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Help train other shop associates as needed.
- Participate in on or off-site training as required.
Schedule: Available for call-ins (emergency), Weekend rotations as scheduled, Available to work overtime or other shifts if needed
Knowledge/Skills:
Understanding and troubleshooting of electrical (AC and DC) and control systems
- Power distribution
- Relay logic
- Electrical print reading
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Drive wiring and programming
- Control equipment including: RTDs, flow meters, D/P cells, I/Ps, load cells, positioners, compensators, etc
- Voltages up to 600VAC
- Troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of general safety procedures including proper PPE and 70e
- Documentation and root cause analysis (5 Why)
- Organization of spare parts inventory
Programs/Systems:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
- PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, etc)
- PLC software and ladder logic
- Bus systems
- Drives
Preferred - 2 year Mechatronics or equivalent degree
Pay Rate: $27.54 - $31.58 depending on experience.
