Job Title: Estimator (Commercial Construction)
Location: Missouri City, Texas
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Millis Development & Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information from construction plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information from construction plans and specifications.
- Provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.
- Responsible for GMPs, lump sum bidding, and bid package coordination.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift software.
- Attend prebid meetings, site visits, and bid turn-ins.
- Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade-specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages.
- Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, qualify proposals.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor/supplier list, actively increasing subcontractor pool.
- Demonstrate ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to make reliable predictions as it relates to cost and estimate across all scopes of work.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years' experience as a commercial estimator.
- Experience with civil site development (earthwork, underground wet/dry utilities, and flatwork).
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study preferred.
- Ability to read plans and specifications.
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and take-off software.
- High sense of accountability and ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Self-motivated.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Team oriented, cooperative, and collaborative.
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of construction practices and methods, including contracts, estimating, specifications, scheduling, safety, and equipment.
