Job Title: ControllerSalary: $120K DOEReports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Overview:We are looking for a growth-minded Controller to join our expanding team. As we continue to grow, this position is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise daily bank deposits, ACH and wire transfers, ensuring precise record-keeping.
Perform daily bank account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
Post monthly standard entries by the 15th of each month, ensuring timely updates.
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules aligned with corresponding general ledger accounts.
Collaborate with office staff to meet deadlines and maintain efficient workflows.
Prepare reports for management and department heads, as needed.
Handle tax report preparation, including sales tax, tire disposal tax, lease tax, and personal property taxes.
Ensure financial statement reporting aligns with franchisor and management company guidelines.
Regularly update accounting schedules to ensure monthly accuracy.
Complete monthly account reconciliations (floor plan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer's statements, accounts payable).
Ensure finance product sales documents (e.g., GAP, warranty policies) are reported and paid on time.
Distribute accounts payable checks by the 15th each month.
Recommend improvements to office operations for better efficiency.
Lead weekly meetings with managers to discuss expenses, contracts, and outstanding receivables.
Reconcile and submit monthly parts accounts to the Management team
Review WIP and parts tickets to ensure timely closure.
Reconcile monthly vehicle inventories with the general ledger, ensuring accurate tracking.
Dispatch monthly accounts receivable statements and collect outstanding accounts efficiently.
Ensure timely reconciliation of Work in Progress (WIP).
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a controller or 4 years as an office manager in automotive dealerships.
Experience with CDK DMS system, including Paycom, is preferred NOT REQUIRED.
