SUMMARY This position reports to the Shipping Department Group Leader. Employee responsible for correctly picking / packing metal and non-metal bathroom partition orders and Locker orders for safe and secure shipment to the customer. Employee needs to be well versed on operating designated equipment in established shipping cells and adhering to Safety / Quality / Delivery and CT standards. Shipping cells include, but not limited to Small parcel packing, large crate packing, forklift operation for order selection and pallet loading onto outside carrier trailers. As we want to engage and involve all employees in creating a sustainable problem-solving culture driven at creating an exceptional customer experience, this position will support the execution of both the physical and cultural change within our Bradley Operating System (BOS) and is responsible for participating in the development, recommendation and implementation of continuous improvement ideas, process improvement teams, and activities for improving plant performance, as requested. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following as applicable. Other duties may be assigned. Production Operations : Adhere to Company PoliciesComply with all safety requirements of Company and OSHAMust be able to produce to and Validate Product to Quality Standard and Product SpecificationAdherence to Standard Work, specified as to Content, Sequence, Timing and OutcomeProper use and handling of Company material, tools, processes and equipmentProperly and accurately report transactions such as but not limited to : attendance, labor reporting, BOL for shipping, inventory and operational data collection Skills (Necessary and / or Desired) : Able to lift and handle material and product as referenced in the Physical Demands sectionAble to follow instruction and possess fine motor skills to work with small parts (such as screws)Able to read and understand BOM Routing and Associated Work InstructionsOperates pallet jacks and forklifts as and when neededLoads and unloads materials and merchandise from trucksSupport in distribution by timely picking, wrapping, packing and loading of ordered material for clientInstalls bracing, padding and strapping to loaded materials in the vehicle to ensure safe and secure dispatching of ordered materialKeeps track of orders shipped through timely filling of data in relevant inventoriesEnsures all raw materials are labeled properly with appropriate datesPacks the material appropriately before loading it for dispatchingKeeps track of all orders and dispatches priority orders firstKeeps the stock inventory updatedLocates raw material and packed products in the warehouse as and when needed by inspecting teamsScans the material manually while stocking and notifies the supervisor immediately if any deficit is visibleEnters daily transactions in the related softwareMaintains the workplace and warehouse in a neat, clean and orderly condition Additional Expectations : Must be a good listener, good communicator and work well in a team settingMaintain good standing relative to the Attendance Control ProgramMaintain good standing relative to Performance ManagementBe capable of operating to standardsAssist Manufacturing Engineers with updating / developing Operational Method Sheets (OMS) at the operational level Failure to meet the additional expectations identified here, as well as the above requirements. Continuous Improvement : All employees are required to engage in The Mills Companys Continuous Improvement process. EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or General Education Diploma graduate courses in Industrial Arts preferred, and two (2) years of general shop experience preferred; or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and training.
