The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a vital role in identifying potential customers, generating new business opportunities, and managing leads through the sales pipeline.

Key Functions And Job Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, emailing, and social media outreach.
  • Schedule meetings and tours for the Mills James sales team with potential clients.
  • Maintain and update customer information in the company's HubSpot system.
  • Conduct market research to identify new leads and understand customer needs and interests in the production industry.
  • Engage with prospects via phone and email to introduce them to the company's products or services.
  • Follow up with leads who have been contacted in the past.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for targeting potential customers.
  • Track and report on sales activities and goals.
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Mills James services, industry trends, and competition.
  • Handle objections and educate prospects on the benefits of the company's solutions.
  • Participate in sales training and educational programs to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with sales processes and record-keeping requirements.
  • Assist with the creation of sales materials, such as presentations and proposals.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets as established by the CSO.
  • Provide feedback to marketing on lead generation quality.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Experience: 1-2 year in sales, marketing, customer service, or related experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate product value propositions and conduct business conversations
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Familiarity with CRM software is a plus, and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Willingness to learn Mills James sales techniques and strategies
  • High level of self-motivation and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude
