REPORTS TO: Director of Career & Technical Education
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exhibits consistent planning of daily instructional goals, strategies, and methods of assessment that are consistent with the district and state curriculum.
- Ensures that adequate plans for substitutes as available as needed.
- Demonstrates effective instruction and implementation with strong context, content, and pacing knowledge.
- Demonstrates knowledge of effective instructional strategies that will benefit all students including underachieving and special needs populations.
- Demonstrates effective analysis of assessment results and implementation of instructional interventions to achieve mastery.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in maintaining student engagement.
- Exhibits quality written and verbal feedback that addresses individual student needs.
- Exhibits high expectations for self and students.
- Maintains a classroom environment that is supportive of all students.
- Demonstrates evidence of student progress towards school and individual goals.
- Shows evidence of involvement in school and district activities.
- Demonstrates continued growth by participation in professional development activities.
- Builds successful relationships with parents in order to impact maximum student achievement.
- Maintains accurate and timely records.
- Plans for and actively participates in the Teacher Growth and Development process.
- Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well being of all students.
- Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
- Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
- Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
- Provides ample opportunities for all parents to participate in parent teacher conferences.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university and hold a currently valid 5-year standard teaching license in Mississippi.
2. Applicant must have at least five years of teaching experience.
3. Applicant must validate technology competency by attaining the established minimum score or higher on an assessment approved by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE). The assessment must be directly related to technology competency required by the grade level and subject matter being taught. Approved assessments for this license are IC3 or other approved MDE substitute.
4. Applicant must successfully complete a Certification for an online learning workshop, module, or course that is approved by the MDE.
5. Applicant must successfully complete the Educator Preparation Certification workshop, module, or course that is approved by the MDE.
