Job Summary
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our team and support operational excellence initiatives across our production environment. In this junior-level role, you’ll assist with Lean projects, collect and analyze process data, and help sustain standardized work — all while learning valuable tools and skills in process improvement. Reporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement, you'll lead initiatives that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput, while ensuring compliance with the highest medical device industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform process studies, time studies and data collection to support process improvement efforts
- Support Kaizen events and improvement projects
- Support the creation and updating of SOPs, standard work, and visual tools
- Participate in and help sustain daily Gemba walks and problem-solving activities
- Track key performance metrics (cycle time, downtime, output, etc.) and maintain basic reporting tools
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, production teams, and supervisors to identify and reduce Muda.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are following all safety guidelines.
- Ensure manufacturing processes support 5S standards and practices.
- Ensure manufacturing processes support lean manufacturing practices and initiatives.
- Learn and apply Lean tools such as 5S, Variation reduction, visual management, kanban, and root cause analysis
- Work in a team-based environment in the development, improvement and implementation of production methods, tooling, equipment, and Best Practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience (Lean Certification is a plus)
- Familiar with Lean principles and tools (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, etc.)
- Experience conducting time studies or work measurement
- Solid organizational skills — able to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Familiar with creating SOPs and controlled document updates (especially in regulated environments like medical device or pharma)
- Effective communicator — able to work with cross-functional teams and frontline employees
- Proficient with Excel, MRP/ERP, or basic data tools
- Self-starter with a passion for solving problems and making processes better
Preferred:
- Experience in medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ERP / Database systems
