Position Overview
A General Laborer is responsible for handling various tasks related to the warehouse and production environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and organized flow of products to meet customer demands and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments and verifying the contents against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Assist with moving raw materials, such as wood, and finished products using forklifts or manual lifting.
- Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Pick products from shelves or storage areas based on customer orders, sales orders, or requisitions.
- Pack orders securely and accurately to prevent damage during transportation.
- Performing minor repairs or adjustments on doors as needed to correct defects or improve functionality.
- Using power tools, saws, drills, and other equipment safely and effectively to fabricate and assemble doors.
- Prepare orders for delivery or shipment, ensuring all necessary documentation, labels, and packaging materials are in place.
- Operate warehouse equipment to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Arrange products and pallets in the truck according to shipping requirements, maximizing space utilization and ensuring product integrity
- Assembling door frames by cutting, shaping, and joining materials according to specifications.
- Attaching hinges, locks, handles, and other hardware components to doors.
- Fitting doors into frames, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Assisting with loading doors onto trucks or containers for delivery to customers or distribution centers.
- Working closely with supervisors, production managers, and other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Qualifications
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Warehouse and material handling experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
