The Architectural Millwork Estimator will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing estimates for custom millwork projects. You will collaborate with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure that projects are thoroughly assessed, budgeted, and planned according to company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Preparation: Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, and production times.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to align estimates with project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Vendor Relations: Solicit and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to compile comprehensive estimates.
- Budget Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks to keep projects on budget and within scope.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and related documentation for internal tracking and auditing.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand project needs, address questions, and clarify scope and pricing details.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of market trends, new materials, and industry best practices to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Familiarity with relevant industry software is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of wood, laminate, and other millwork materials, as well as manufacturing and installation processes.
- Analytical Skills: Strong math and cost analysis abilities to produce detailed and accurate estimates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present estimates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple project estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $120,000 – $165,000 (commensurate with experience)
