Our client, a leading California based accounting firm, is looking for a detail-oriented, FULLY REMOTE Tax Accountant to join their accounting team. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings, assisting with tax planning, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of tax laws to support accurate and efficient tax processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Assist with tax planning and research to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with current tax laws.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and reconciliations.
- Maintain organized records of tax filings and important tax documents.
- Collaborate with team members to gather information and documentation needed for accurate reporting.
- Assist with tax audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, and apply updates to current processes.
- Support the senior tax team in special projects and tax-related initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6 years of experience in tax preparation or accounting
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or working toward certification strongly preferred
- Experience working with HNWI strongly preferred
- Experience with Lacerte tax software
- Knowledge of ASC 740 and accounting for income taxes
- Experience in public accounting or working with corporate tax

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
