Summary
The Inventory/Logistics Clerk will work with the Inventory/Logistics Coordinator and assist in the proper production / inventory control and direct interdepartmental efforts for common, real-time understanding of inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Will confirm inventory for spot checks along with helping to perform cycle counts; monthly, quarterly, year-end counts, and any other counts needed.
- Help to coordinate year-end inventory and audits.
- Help to trouble shoot, investigate, and correct any inventory discrepancies.
- Schedule trucks for appointments
- Work with the Inventory/Logistics Coordinator by communicating Inventory items on hold, release of materials into production along with any materials that are destroyed.
- Check trucks in, communicate with brokers or dispatch about issues involving trucks or drivers
- Tracks and directs empty drum movement.
- Will track reclass shipments being received.
- Assist the warehouse in finding locations for products received
- Work closely with sales regarding shipping temperature or damaged product (replacement lots)
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to segregate inventory for holds, to placard the inventory.
- Ensure the system matches all physical moves that have been made.
- Cross train to serve as backup with Inventory/ Logistics Coordinator as needed.
- Other duties as needed.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required. AA/AS or BS/BA from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business, Economics, Agriculture or closely related field preferred.
- Two years’ experience in food manufacturing in scheduling, purchasing, inventory or related role.
- Demonstrated experience gathering information from various sources, distilling information into a course of action and then effectively communicating that course of action to all affected parties.
- Ability to quickly learn equipment/facility capacity for all products and create an efficient schedule balancing equipment availability, product availability and customer needs.
- Intermediate level PC-based computing experience (word processing-Word, spreadsheet-Excel, email-Outlook). Must be comfortable creating formulas in Excel. Ability to learn and gain additional Excel skills with time and training.
- Experience or aptitude to learn ERP software MS Dynamics NAV.
- Demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate information via in-person conversations, phone calls and/or emails. Initiative to seek out information needed to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend work related documents, company policy and federal regulations written in English.
- Ability to relate well with all levels of MFP staff, growers, suppliers, customers and other business people. Because of considerable interaction with all groups, effective language and human relationship skills are essential.
- Professional writing skills for composing memos, letters and other business correspondence, observing all rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to calculate yields.
- Ability to review cost data, analyze and make recommendations.
- Ability to apply all needed math skills within an Excel spreadsheet.

Environmental Conditions
- Standard office environment 85%; plant/freezer/laboratory 15%.
- Potential workplace hazards in the processing plant. All safety regulations and use of PPE’s must be followed.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Manages multiple deadlines.

- Mobility around office and plant facilities.
- Ability to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, bend, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools.
