Overview :
Intellectual Property firm seeks detail oriented paralegal to prosecute Patent, Trademark, and Copyright applications. Ideal candidate has at least one year of Intellectual Property prosecution experience.
Duties :
Assist with management of lifecycle of trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
Ensure legal documents are processed in a timely and efficient manner complying with the firm’s quality control requirements, client guidelines, and USPTO regulations and deadlines.
Monitor filing deadlines for all US and foreign patent, trademark, and copyright applications.
Maintain calendared deadlines for all US and foreign patent, trademark, and copyright applications.
Transmit documents electronically to clients, courts, USPTO, Secretary of State, Copyright Office and other agencies via appropriate firm methods.
Create, maintain and organize electronic and paper files.
Assist in the coordination of client billing and time entry, auditing and revising as necessary and following client specific instructions.
Assist supervising attorney with new business intake, including opening new files.
Perform research as requested using Private / Public PAIR, TARR, eSpace, WIPO, TSDR, TESS, My.USPTO.gov, Google Patents, and other reference sources.
Order, review, and draft opinions regarding trademark, patent, and copyright searches.
Prepare and electronically file Notices of Opposition, Petitions for Cancellation, and other motions and documents at TTAB; manage docketing.
Type, proofread, edit and / or assemble and / or serve legal documents, including but not limited to, trademark applications, copyright applications, patent initiating documents, pleadings, discovery, contracts, subpoenas, legal memoranda, letters, proposals and / or other documents (including cite checking, E-Filing, blue-backs, courtesy copies).
