Description
- Follow established procedures to accurately complete testing requirements on raw materials, in-process materials/products and finished goods; compare to material/product specifications; ensure material/product meets acceptable measurements.
- Operate all laboratory testing equipment.
- Evaluate and conduct first article and start up inspections; perform calculations and follow up testing as needed.
- Maintain quality documentation records.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action meetings.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration and checks on testing equipment to ensure accuracy of test results.
- Conduct ISO 9001-2015 internal audits as assigned.
- Distribute work instructions and Quality Alerts as directed to operating areas.
- Conduct safety audits and observations consistent with the organizational behavior-based safety programs.
- Employ Lean and Six Sigma concepts and practices; participate in Kaizen events; drive 5S activities, visual management and standardized work regarding Quality.
- Train other quality operators on new and existing work assignments for processes consistent with the organizations quality systems and documented standard work.
- Assist in the development of Work Instructions, forms and other documentation.
- Maintain quality hold area and return supplier materials as needed. Lead/support containment activities.
- Must be able to accommodate necessary overtime when required.
- Perform data collection and analysis functions as required by quality management as part of a cross functional team working with other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager/Sr Quality Engineer.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required. Associates/Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One (1) to Four (4) year’s prior experience with quality control; prior experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word & Power Point).
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
