A construction manufacturing company is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead their engineering department and help bring new construction products to market. This client offers a variety of engineered solutions that prevent leaks in the roof and wall and that enable storm shelters to meet code to protect occupants in the case of a tornado. This client supports projects ranging from hospitals to data centers to K-12 schools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, experience bringing new products to market , and a proven track record of managing engineering teams and projects within the manufacturing industry. Veterans are encouraged to apply!
Position : Director of Engineering
Compensation : $160K-$170K Bonus
Location : Philadelphia, PA
Responsibilities :
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Engineering Department, including budget, hiring, planning, design, production, and execution.
- Lead all engineering aspects of R&D and new product development : define product requirements, product design, product COGS, and product field installation process.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure product specifications, industry regulations, building codes, and safety requirements are met.
- Lead engineering team in managing aspects of the Quality Management system and conducting certification audits.
- Research building codes, product specifications, and industry standards; utilize sound engineering principles and design tools to create and optimize company products and solutions.
- Manage team of engineers that create and maintain engineering drawings using 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
- Write, revise, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, material specifications, and other production documents.
- Prepare construction estimates and budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting of costs.
- Develop install manuals for customers to utilize when installing our product at construction job sites.
