Senior Software Engineer/C++ *PC 1137

Your Tasks:

The Senior Software Engineer, C will design and develop underlying architecture and user-interface (UI) for instrument control and analysis software for instruments within Miltenyi Biotec’s analysis instrument software (AISW) department.  The software will enable users to configure and execute experiments on Miltenyi instruments spanning multiple platforms (spatial biology, flow cytometry) and also to perform innovative, technically complex, and highly-interactive analysis work.  This person will be responsible for interacting with project stakeholders to understand required features, designing the implementation of these features in coordination with the (cross-project) global SW product team, and implementing the solution as part of an agile development team and according to the global SW development policies.  The position will be based at Miltenyi’s Waltham MA site and offer options for a flexible hybrid (majority remote) work schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Architecture design and development of new features for planning and execution of experiments with Miltenyi’s biological analysis instruments using C and Qt.
• Development of new features for analysis and visualization within Miltenyi’s highly-interactive image and multiomics analysis software, primarily using C and Qt.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, commented code with unit tests.
• Perform design reviews, pull requests in a GIT/C environment.
• Participate in agile ceremonies as a member of a cross-functional agile team.
• Expand your education in relevant topic areas such as the spatial multiomics marketplace to foster innovation.

Requirements:

• Engineering or computer science degree, 8 years of experience in writing and reviewing production level source code (C ) with skills like multithreading, adding UI widgets (Qt), etc.; or a combination of education and experience
• C proficiency required.
• Qt Knowledge.
• Ability to work within an international cross-discipline team required. 
• Experience in an imaging field like microcopy, image processing or scientific visualization preferred.
• Experience working with biological applications preferred.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $155,200 - $209,900/year.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.  In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan.  All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
