Position: Assistant Sailing Coach

Summary of Position:
Milton Academy is in search of an Assistant Coach for Sailing for the 2024-25 spring season. The Sailing program competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and is a member of the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). The Sailing program has a tradition of excellence and has competed at the highest of levels. The coach will collaborate with the Director of Athletics on all aspects of the Sailing program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement practice plans for team in collaboration with assistant coach.
- Collaborate with the Director of Athletics regarding best practices, planning, and strategy.
- Follow all safety practices and Academy policies as outlined in the schools Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including the policy against hazing and bullying.
- Traveling to and from home/away games with the team.
- Communicating with head coach throughout the season.
- Providing strategy, physical training, and techniques to help their student-athletes reach individual and team success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision to be received: Position reports to the Director of Athletics.
Supervision to be exercised: N/A
Education/Certification/Licensure
Required: Must have a valid drivers license
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Experience
Required: Knowledge of the sport.
Preferred: Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required. Experience working in an independent boarding / day school.

Physical Abilities
Required:
- Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs
- Frequent talking, listening, walking, sitting, and standing
- Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to drive students in a Milton Academy vehicle to and from games/practices
