Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital is an independent, community Jewish day school that currently offers a dual curriculum of General and Judaic studies for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. Duties
MILTON is looking for Judaic Studies teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Some duties of the Judaic Studies teacher include, but are not limited to:
- Co-creating dynamic, student-driven, hands-on curriculum materials and providing individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Teaching Tanach (Bible), Jewish holidays, and Parshat Hashavua, utilizing a course of study adopted by the school, and other appropriate learning activities.
- Participating in and is a role model during grade-level Tefillot (prayers).
- Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Communicating with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program.
- Evaluating students’ academic and social growth
- Collaborating with grade-level colleagues about curriculum and educational programming
