At Milton Hershey School, we are dedicated to providing high school seniors with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed after graduation. As a Flex Transitional Living Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supervising students in a residential setting.
You will be responsible for creating engaging recreational activities, facilitating personal development, and collaborating with staff to enhance the program. With a focus on life skills training, you will help students develop essential skills such as goal setting, planning and prioritization, time management, personal finance, and interpersonal skills.
This is a year-round position that requires a flexible schedule, working 9 consecutive days followed by 3 days off. Compensation includes a minimum annual salary of $48,799 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Housing and utilities are provided, and up to $2,800 in relocation assistance is available.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and experience working in youth residential settings. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive a 9-passenger van are also required. If you have experience mentoring, teaching, or advising diverse youth from under-served settings, it is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage conflict and inspire others. High degree of organizational skills and flexibility are also required. Computer skills including Microsoft and Google applications, Internet, and social media are necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Create and supervise evening and weekend recreational activities
- Take students to Sunday chapel services
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to continually evaluate and enhance the program
- Provide coverage in MHS's students' homes as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to become certified to drive a 9-passenger van
- Experience working in youth residential settings a plus
- Experience mentoring, teaching, or advising diverse youth from under-served settings desired
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering life skills training a plus
