Student Caregivers
Milton Hershey School is seeking student caregivers to join our team as flex houseparents. In this role, you will provide a nurturing home environment for disadvantaged students, managing a household of 8-12 students and fulfilling various responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. As a flex houseparent, you will be responsible for guiding and nurturing students and helping them develop important life skills.
About the Benefits
As flex houseparents, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, resulting in a total compensation package of approximately $150,000 per couple. This includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and a schedule that includes nine days on followed by three days off. You will also have three-week paid summer vacation.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you and your spouse must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You should be legally married for at least two years, both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. You must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted. Valid driver's licenses and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
