Your Role as a Flex Houseparent:
As a Flex Houseparent at Milton Hershey School, your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance and nurturing support to students in a family-like environment. You will work closely with your spouse to create a consistent and supportive atmosphere for students. Your role will involve handling various responsibilities, including driving, administering medication, and leading daily devotions. You will also be responsible for budgeting and reporting tasks, ensuring that all aspects of student care are met. Initially, Flex Houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Both spouses must have been legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
