Job Description:
As a houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you will provide a family-like care environment for students. You will work collaboratively with your spouse to manage student residences, ensuring safety and well-being while fostering educational growth. This unique role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of youth in a supportive community.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be age 27 or older, have been legally married for at least two years, and have no more than three dependent children residing in the student home. You should also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.

- Provide a consistent family-like structure for students
- Handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc.
- Cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home
- Collaborate with your spouse to manage student residences
