Flex Houseparent Job Summary
At Milton Hershey School, we are seeking married couples to become Flex Houseparents, residing on-campus and nurturing a small group of students. This role involves providing a family-like environment, driving, administering medication, and offering guidance and mentorship. Couples work on a unique schedule with opportunities for growth and development, contributing to the development of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Couples will be responsible for providing daily care and support to students, including homework help, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment. They must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older and have been legally married for at least two years. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required. Additionally, couples must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
Compensation and Benefits
Couples who join our team will enjoy a competitive salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. They will also receive a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with three-week paid summer vacation and opportunities for personal time while students are at school.
