The Youth Development Specialist at Milton Hershey School involves married couples serving as flex houseparents. This unique career path requires couples to provide a consistent family-like structure for students, handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. As a flex houseparent, you will be responsible for creating a supportive environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to students in academics and personal development
- Administer medication and handle daily living needs
- Create a family-like structure and foster positive relationships with students
- Participate in daily devotions and take students to Sunday chapel services
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Must be married for at least two years
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older
- Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
