What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dedicated Couples Wanted for Student Mentoring position at Milton Hershey School?
Our Approach
At Milton Hershey School, we take a holistic approach to education, recognizing that students' academic success is deeply connected to their physical, emotional, and social well-being. As a houseparent couple, you will play a critical role in supporting our students' overall development, providing guidance, mentorship, and care in a safe and nurturing environment.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking married couples who share our commitment to helping students from challenging backgrounds reach their full potential. If you and your spouse are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
As a houseparent couple, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support to our students, including driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting responsibilities. You will work closely with your spouse to create a supportive family-like structure for our students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful as a houseparent couple, you will need experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from underserved settings. Both spouses must be age 27 or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid driver's license. You will also need to be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Additionally, you must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be willing to abide by our smoke-free, weapon-free, and pet-friendly campus policies.
