What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate and Educator position at Milton Hershey School?
Career-Focused Education and Support
Milton Hershey School is one of the world's best private schools, providing a career-focused education to students from pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a married couple, you will have the opportunity to join our community as Houseparents and provide a supportive family-like environment for 8-12 students. Your responsibilities will include managing student homes, administering medication, budgeting, and driving. You will also have the opportunity to lead daily devotions and take students to Sunday chapel services.
In this role, you will work closely with your spouse and other houseparents to create a structured living experience that promotes academic success, personal growth, and emotional well-being. You will be part of a team that provides comprehensive support to our students, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; and retirement savings. Our school provides a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and we offer limited pet accommodations. Valid driver's licenses are required, and you must be able to become certified to drive student home vans.
Our ideal candidates possess experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. We value couples who can demonstrate a high degree of integrity and serve as positive role models for our students.
