Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become Flex Houseparents, providing a nurturing family-like environment for students in on-campus homes. As a Flex Houseparent, you will oversee and guide 8-12 students, involving driving, medication administration, and budgeting. This unique position requires married couples to work together as a team, providing a consistent family-like structure for students.
About the Role
You will reside in an on-campus student home with your spouse and guide a group of approximately 8-12 students. You will handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and more. Initially, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary package, with each person receiving $43,825 per year. This translates to a total compensation package of approximately $150,000 per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. You will also receive comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Our schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school, and three-week paid summer vacation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You should also be a legally married couple with at least two years of marriage, and both spouses should be age 27 or older. Additionally, you should be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. You must also be able to lift up to 50 lbs and demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff are role models for students.
