What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family-Like Caregivers for Students position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become part of our community as House Parents, playing a vital role in the lives of our students. As a House Parent, you will provide nurturing and guidance to a small group of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, creating a family-like structure for your assigned group of 8-12 students.
You will be responsible for handling daily household activities, supporting the students' educational journey, and handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. When initially hired, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including a salary of $43,825 per person, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Our flexible schedule allows for nine days on followed by three days off, with workdays including personal time while students are at school.
Qualifications for this role include experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Couples must have been legally married for at least two years and both spouses should be age 27 or older. We also require a valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
We are looking for couples who demonstrate a high degree of integrity and are comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
