Creating a Supportive Environment for Students
Milton Hershey School is committed to providing a supportive environment for students that promotes their social, emotional, and academic growth. As a flex houseparent, you will play a vital role in creating a family-like atmosphere that encourages students to thrive. Your responsibilities will include guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students, handling daily tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. When initially hired, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.

Relocation assistance and paid training are also provided. The schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, with workdays including a period of personal time while students are at school. Three-week paid summer vacation is also included.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and the couple must have been legally married for at least two years. Additionally, both spouses must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and possess a valid driver's license. Couples must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as they are role models for students.
