What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Specialist position at Milton Hershey School?
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Milton Hershey School. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and their families.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in youth development, preferably from an under-served setting. They will be responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to students, supporting them in achieving their academic and personal goals. This role requires a two-person team who have been legally married for at least two years and both spouses should be age 27 or older.
The salary for this position is competitive, with a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple. Benefits include comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings.
In addition to these benefits, relocation assistance and paid training will be provided. A schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, and three-week paid summer vacation, will also be available.
The Family Support Specialist will work closely with students, parents, and other staff members to provide a consistent family-like structure for students. This includes handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. When initially hired, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
