Milton Hershey School is seeking a dedicated couple to join our team as Family Support Specialists. In this unique role, you will serve as flex houseparents, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students in an enriching educational setting.
As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide a consistent family-like structure for students, handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. You will work closely with the school's staff to ensure the well-being of your assigned students.
The ideal candidate will have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
This is a two-person job that requires couples who have been legally married for at least two years. As a Family Support Specialist, you will abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and no alcohol is permitted while on duty. Valid driver's licenses and the ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required.
In addition to a salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple), you will receive comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Your schedule will consist of nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school.
