Responsibilities
Flex houseparents will be responsible for guiding a group of approximately 8-12 students, providing a nurturing environment, and handling various duties such as driving, administering medication, and budgeting. They will work closely with other staff members to ensure the well-being of students. When initially hired, couples will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home. After their first year, they can apply for positions with additional responsibilities, such as teaching or coaching.
Requirements
To be eligible, couples must meet certain requirements. They should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be legally married for at least two years, and both should be age 27 or older. No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. Both spouses must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, limit pets (only fish and one dog of approved breeds), and have valid driver's licenses to drive student home vans. Additionally, couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. High school diploma or GED is required, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
