Milton Hershey School is seeking dynamic married couples to fill houseparent roles, providing leadership and support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a houseparent couple, you will live on campus and oversee the daily activities of 8-12 students, fostering a positive and nurturing environment. You will work closely with other houseparents and school staff to ensure the well-being and success of our students.
About the Position
Responsibilities include providing guidance, transportation, medical administration, and budgeting for students. When initially hired, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home. You will also be responsible for creating a consistent family-like structure for students and handling various responsibilities such as driving and medication administration.
What We Provide
- Salary of $43,825 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple)
- Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid relocation assistance and comprehensive training
- Flexible schedule with nine days on and three days off
- Three-week paid summer vacation
Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Legally married couple for at least two years
- Both spouses must be at least 27 years old
- Limitations on dependent children residing in the student home
- Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to chapel services
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrated high level of integrity.
