Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to join our team of houseparents. As a houseparent, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. This involves managing a student home, ensuring a safe and structured atmosphere, and fulfilling responsibilities such as transportation and medication administration.
The ideal candidate couple should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. They should be legally married for at least two years, both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. The couple must also abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus and have valid driver's licenses.
We offer a competitive salary package, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Our schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, with personal time while students are at school. We also provide a three-week paid summer vacation.
