House Parents - Relocation to Hershey, PA Required at Milton Hershey School
We are seeking married couples to become flex houseparents at Milton Hershey School. As a flex houseparent couple, you will provide a nurturing home environment for 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's best private schools, offering an exceptional career-focused education with housing, meals, and more—all costs covered. Our school is fully endowed, thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, who founded the school in 1909. This provides us with the resources to ensure both our students and staff have everything they need to thrive.
Flex houseparents reside on-campus in student homes and guide and nurture a group of approximately 8-12 students. They provide a consistent family-like structure for students, handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. Initially, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
Responsibilities:
• Drive students to activities and appointments
• Administer medications as needed
• Manage household budgets and finances
• Maintain accurate records and reports
• Lead daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited)
Requirements:
• Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
• Legally married for at least two years
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
• Both spouses must complete an individual employment application
