House Parents Role at Milton Hershey School

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a premier private school providing exceptional career-focused education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds in pre-K through 12th grade. The school offers comprehensive support, including housing and meals, at no cost to the students.

We are seeking married couples to serve as Flex Houseparents, living on campus with their family and guiding approximately 8-12 students. This unique role requires a nurturing environment, where the houseparents handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and more.

Benefits Package

We offer a competitive compensation package for our houseparents, including:

• A salary of $43,825 per person (totaling approx. $150,000 per couple), covering free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more.

• Relocation assistance and paid training provided.
• A schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with personal time while students are at school.
• Three-week paid summer vacation.

Qualifications

To be eligible, candidates must have:

• Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings.
• Be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, with no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
