Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become flex houseparents. As part of our team, you will provide a nurturing and stable family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This unique role requires a married couple to manage a home, guiding and overseeing the wellbeing of 8-12 students while also performing various household responsibilities. Ideal candidates should have experience with youth, demonstrate integrity, and be committed to supporting the students academically and personally.
The benefits package includes salary, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and three-week paid summer vacation. Flex houseparents are responsible for daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- This is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions
