Job Description
As a flex houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and structured family environment for students in grades pre-K through 12. This unique role requires strong commitment and teamwork to guide students and uphold a safe and supportive home. You will work alongside your spouse to manage responsibilities such as transportation, medication administration, and budgeting while living on-campus. The ideal candidate should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Additionally, couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited).
Benefits and Qualifications
As a flex houseparent, you will enjoy a salary of $43,825 per person, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; and retirement savings. You will also receive relocation assistance and paid training. Other benefits include a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, and a three-week paid summer vacation. It's essential to note that both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. Couples must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus and limit pets to fish and one dog of approved breeds.
