Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's best private schools, providing an exceptional education to students in pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. All costs are covered, including housing, meals, and more.
Funded by the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, who founded the school in 1909, MHS has the resources to ensure both students and staff have everything they need to thrive.
Role and Responsibilities
Flex houseparents reside in on-campus student homes, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students. They provide a consistent family-like structure and handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and more.
Initially, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.

- A salary of $43,825 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more)

Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Be legally married couples with at least two years of marriage
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Have no more than three dependent children residing in the student home
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, with no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Limitations on pets apply; only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted
- Hold a valid driver's license and be certified to drive student home vans
- Be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff serve as role models for students
