Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to become flex houseparents. Flex houseparents are couples who reside in on-campus student homes, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students. They provide a consistent family-like structure for students and handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc.
Flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home. This unique position is ideal for couples with experience working with youth, seeking a meaningful career in education and support.
The role requires living on-campus and providing a daily schedule that includes activities, meals, and chores. Houseparents also facilitate learning opportunities, promote character development, and model positive relationships.

Couples will receive:
- A salary of $43,825 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple)

Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Avoid smoking and weapons on campus
- Pets are limited to fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Hold a valid driver's license and ability to drive student home vans
- Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate high integrity as all staff are role models for students
- Both spouses complete an individual employment application
