Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become flex houseparents, providing a consistent family-like structure for students. These couples will reside in on-campus student homes, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students. They will be responsible for tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and more.
This role requires a high degree of integrity, as staff members serve as role models for students. Both spouses must demonstrate their ability to lead students in daily devotions and take them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. The couple must also abide by the school's policies regarding smoking, weapons, and pets.
In return for their dedication and hard work, houseparents receive a salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $150,000 per couple, which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. Comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training are also provided.
