Milton Hershey School is seeking dedicated and compassionate married couples to serve as House Parents. As a House Parent, you will play a vital role in providing guidance and support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to grow and thrive in a family-like environment.
Responsibilities include residential duties such as driving, medication administration, and budgeting, as well as leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Couples must be comfortable with the demands of this role and be willing to commit to fostering positive relationships with their students.
The ideal candidate couple will have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they should have been legally married for at least two years. The couple will also need to abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus policy.
Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings, and paid training provided. The work schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. Three-week paid summer vacation is also included.
