What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor Couples for Youth Development position at Milton Hershey School?
Transformative Opportunity
At Milton Hershey School, we are seeking married couples to become part of our dynamic team as Houseparents. As a Houseparent, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing family-like environment for disadvantaged students.
Milton Hershey School is one of the world's best private schools, offering an exceptional career-focused education with housing, meals, and more – all costs covered. Our school was founded by Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, and we have the resources to ensure both students and staff thrive.
As a Houseparent, you will reside on-campus with your spouse and guide a group of approximately 8-12 students. Your responsibilities will include driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and providing a consistent family-like structure. You will cover different student homes initially before being assigned to one specific home.
We offer a competitive salary package, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Our schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. You will also enjoy a three-week paid summer vacation.
To be successful in this role, you and your spouse should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. We require a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Both spouses must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and complete an individual employment application.
